FAQ 2) If I buy a dedicated server with Domínios.PT, who manages my Hardware?

Domínios.PT Technical Staff is entirely responsible for the detection and resolution of any hardware problems that may occur with its Dedicated Servers.

FAQ 3) How is the replacement of hardware guaranteed?

Domínios.PT has stock of all the hardware components that make up each Dedicated Server. In case of failure, the hardware involved will be promptly replaced, with no additional cost to the customer.

FAQ 4) What kind of connectivity is provided by Domínios.PT?

The connectivity of the Datacenter Domínios.PT is ensured by redundant fiber optic connections which allows us to ensure an SLA of 99.95%

FAQ 5) What kind of options do I have to manage my own dedicated server?

Since all servers made available by Domínios.PT are fully managed, it is not usually necessary to have remote access management, as even remote reboots may be solicited.

However, should the customer wish so, it may have total control of their server, by Remote Desktop (RDP) client, SSH or IPMI.

FAQ 6) What security mechanisms are in place to protect my data?

The most valuable asset in any service is the customer data so Domínios.PT takes backup service very seriously. Therefore, we have several mechanisms to ensure our customers data integrity, depending on their needs.

At server level we provide hard disks in RAID1, RAID5, RAID6 and RAID10 configuration, providing safety and data availability according to our customers needs.

We also provide a second backup disk for data replication from the main disk, which allows booting in case of main disk failure.

And last but not least, Domínios.PT provides a Central Backup Service which allows data to be stored outside the Dedicated Server, enabling its restoration to any desired date.

FAQ 7) Is there any monitoring service or must I subscribe that service from third-party providers?

Owning a Dedicated Server fully managed by a qualified and experienced Technical Staff means that you do not need to subscribe any service from third-party providers.

All Dominios.PT Dedicated Servers are constantly monitored (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) for connectivity failures, hardware problems and disk space.

Whenever a failure is detected you will be in touch with a member of Dominios.Pt Technical Staff so that the problem is solved in the least possible time span.

FAQ 8) Are there any usage meters or graphs available?

All Dominios.PT Dedicated servers include access to used bandwidth graphs.

FAQ 9) How do I install a specific component (phpSHIELD, ASP Upload ...) or an application on my server (MySQL, ImageMagick ...)?

Whenever you need to install a specific application or component on your Dedicated Server you must contact Dominios.PT Technical Staff sending an email to info@dominios.pt, so that the application compliance can be verified.

Dominios.PT Tecnhical Staff only provides technical support to applications installed upon delivery of the Dedicated Server. Technical support for any other application / component installed on request should be provided by the entity responsible for it.

FAQ 10) What is the difference between a managed and an unmanaged Dedicated Server?

Dedicated Servers provided by Dominios.PT are fully managed by its own Technical Staff, which allows the customer to focus on its business, leaving all of his Dedicated Servers management, maintenance and updating tasks to Dominios.PT

A fully managed Dedicated Server provides you with a Technical Staff that constantly monitors your Dedicated Servers Bandwidth, Operating System and resources, as well as support to installed applications and answers to all of the customers questions.

This option is highly recommended and beneficial for all customers who do not have or do not wish to hire managers with deep expertise just to manage its Dedicated Server.

For unmanaged Dedicated Servers, Operating System maintenance and eventual problems are the responsibility of the customer. In this situation, Domínios.PT does not have access to the server once this access is only available to the customer.
